Wake Up!

Wake Up!

Have you ever wondered if you are capable of more than what you are currently doing? We’ve been brainstorming some attention-grabbing “Wake Up Calls” to help people realize their true potential. As we complete some of these ideas, we will post photos, videos, and stories of people’s reactions. Here are some of our ideas:

  • We could call a call center representative of some huge company. Mid-conversation, we ask the person what their dream is and why they are not chasing it.
  • Talk to a grocery store clerk while checking out and say “What is your dream?” Once they answer, say if I gave you $100 right now would you promise to chase your dream starting today? You have to look me in the eyes, shake my hand and promise me that you will start chasing your dream today and you won’t give up until you are living it. Do you promise?
  • Go into an office full of cubicles and put art on everyone’s desk that says Follow Your Dream Today!
  • Find the most highly commuted road in the nation where everyone sits in traffic and hates life. Then, put a huge rainbow colored banner over a bridge that says “Why wait? follow your dreams!”
  • Start a compliment booth in the middle of NYC or some crowded city and compliment people walking by. Saying things like “we believe in you.” “You change the world.” “Follow your dreams.” “You can make an impact.” Yes, we are going to get laughed at and made fun of, but if it changes even one person’s outlook, it was worth it.
  • Pick a ton of wild flowers and cover the floor of a boring office. Arrange the flowers into a path, leading to a message spelled with flowers – “follow your dreams, you’ll find the path is full of beauty.”
  • Go onto a college campus. Post a giant peice of paper that on the top says “What is your dream?” put tons of markers on the ground. Film what happens.
  • Leave post it notes in every town we visit saying “What is your dream? share is on TheDreamShareProject.com”

What ideas do you have? We think doing things like this could potentially have a real impact. People need something crazy to wake them up. If it even makes a difference in one person’s life, it was worth the effort.
