We made it to Chicago yesterday!
But before we talk about that, let’s talk about this…
The look on Chip’s face was due to the SAGANAKI!
The sag-a-what-now?! Saganaki is a Greek dish, and is basically a big piece of fried cheese. It is delicious, gooey, hot cheese on the inside, lightly fried and crispy-crunchy-AMAZING on the outside. Our waitress at Dmitri’s (a Greek/American diner in Columbus, Indiana) brought this platter over, lit the cheese on fire with a Bic and squeezed lemon juice all over it. As you can tell from Chip’s facial expressions, it was INSANE.
And now…
Chicago!
We wandered over to “The Bean,” a giant bubble sculpture that reflects your reflection and the city scape back at you.
That’s our reflections!
Then we checked out this bizarre hologram wall of native Chicagoans. You see their faces, and then…
They spit water on you!
On the opposite side is just a water wall 🙂

We’re staying at Illinois State Beach Park. It’s right on Lake Michigan and it looks like we’re actually at the beach, not a lake. So nice.
We have an interview with Zach Kaplan of www.inventables.com tomorrow in the city, and on Friday night we’re going to Lebowski fest! Hopefully tomorrow will bring some deep dish pizza into my life…
I tried saganaki in Greece. They got lots of different combinations. I think the most popular one was shrimp saganaki. I couldn’t eat it though because it was my kryptonite. It did smell and look very very tasty.
