Yesterday we left freezing Flagstaff and headed to the Grand Canyon at 5:30 a.m.! The Grand Canyon was totally worth the two hour drive from Flagstaff and the frozen fingers we got from packing up the tent in 30 degree weather. Over 250 people a year are rescued from the depths of the Grand Canyon […]
Yosemite has a grove of giant sequoia trees, one of the only places in the world to have such a grove. Giant sequoias are the oldest living things on the planet and the world’s largest trees. We had fun trying to hug them and climb inside them. We did not have so much fun […]
We had the best time at Yosemite. We camped, we hiked until we almost keeled over, we climbed to waterfalls. In short, it was amazing. Here’s our photographic journey of Yosemite. Enjoy!
We were in Lake Tahoe for two days, but we had to leave because there was snow on the ground. It was a little cold for camping. Lake Tahoe was beautiful, I wish we could have stayed longer!
In our 6 weeks on the road, there has been a lot of terrible singing, dancing, and air guitaring. Unfortunately, we had a video camera to capture these super embarrassing moments (sometimes without the other person knowing). We put together a montage called Secret American Idol #1. Warning: this is probably the most embarrassing thing […]
After WWOFing in South Dakota, we headed on down to Utah. It was an arduous journey. We stayed in a hotel (!) one night in Park City because it was freezing cold and raining. You know we did it up with that breakfast buffet the following morning. FOOD FOR WEEKS I TELL YOU! After our […]
Chip somehow managed to get all the cows (from the farm next to our campground) to come talk to him one night. One by one they trailed over to eat grass out of his hand. They obviously don’t know his affinty for hamburgers.
On the Monday we were in South Dakota before we went WWOFing, Chip and I arose at 5 a.m. (I’m not kidding you) to see the Custer State Park Buffalo roundup (again, I’m not kidding). I am not a morning person. Anyways, the buffalo roundup happens once a year in Custer. Dozens of cowboys and […]
We decided after all our monumenting, we needed some excitement. Real, live, excitement. Drumroll please… Bear Country. This is without a doubt the stupidest, most tourist trappy activity we have done so far. Ignore my crying in the video, I had a GREAT time! You get to drive your car around a giant park and look […]
Ok, so it’s been like a week since we left Mount Rushmore and went to… CRAZY HORSE MONUMENT! But bear (country har har) with me. We’ll just do a little time travel, so you can get the full effect of our South Dakota splendor. Anyways, the Crazy Horse memorial, which we went to after Mount Rushmore, was started […]
